ABOUT ME

​​

• I am an experienced NHS Consultant Paediatrician, with over 20 years experience of working in partnership with parents taking care of children. 

• Born and bred up in Yorkshire, I graduated from Manchester Medical School in 1992.

• From 2003 to 2013 I worked as a busy Hospital Paediatric Consultant, specialising in neonatology, gastroenterology and general paediatrics.

• Since 2013 I have worked as a Paediatric Consultant in NHS Community Paediatrics focusing on neurodevelopmental conditions such as ADHD and Autism, developmental delay and learning disability, as well as looked-after-children and child safeguarding. (Since June 2023 I am taking a break from NHS working). 

• My clinical interests and expertise are ADHD, Autism, Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACE) and FASD.

• NHS Clinical and Leadership roles I have held include Clinical Director, Named and Designated Doctor for Safeguarding and Looked after Children.

• During my NHS career, I have been awarded a number of clinical excellence awards for service quality improvements including leading on developing hospital and community based services that include a sleep service and an ADHD service for children and young people. 

• As an experienced Doctor, my patients appreciate the warmth, professional integrity, and open communication that define my medical practice. I’m determined to help my patients understand their own health and well-being so they can be well informed when making important decisions.

• My philosophy is not business but to provide expert and honest opinion. I understand that your health and wellness concerns extend beyond routine medical care.
