I am an experienced NHS Consultant Paediatrician, with over 20 years experience of working in partnership with parents taking care of children.

Born and bred up in Yorkshire, I graduated from Manchester Medical School in 1992.

From 2003 to 2013 I worked as a busy Hospital Paediatric Consultant, specialising in neonatology, gastroenterology and general paediatrics.

Since 2013 I have worked as a Paediatric Consultant in NHS Community Paediatrics focusing on neurodevelopmental conditions such as ADHD and Autism, developmental delay and learning disability, as well as looked-after-children and child safeguarding. (Since June 2023 I am taking a break from NHS working).

My clinical interests and expertise are ADHD, Autism, Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACE) and FASD.

NHS Clinical and Leadership roles I have held include Clinical Director, Named and Designated Doctor for Safeguarding and Looked after Children.

During my NHS career, I have been awarded a number of clinical excellence awards for service quality improvements including leading on developing hospital and community based services that include a sleep service and an ADHD service for children and young people.

As an experienced Doctor, my patients appreciate the warmth, professional integrity, and open communication that define my medical practice. I’m determined to help my patients understand their own health and well-being so they can be well informed when making important decisions.
